We are a luxury interior design studio in Kennett Square, PA, specializing in residential and commercial spaces. We are currently seeking a Junior Designer to join our upbeat, down-to-earth team. We seek a candidate with industry knowledge, design experience, innovative design concepts, and creativity while keeping within the NJID aesthetic. This position is a contract role with the potential for long-term project work. This position is in our design studio. The candidate should be local to or able and willing to travel to Kennett Square.

You are an outstanding and polished professional who is a self-starter with a gift for building and maintaining professional relationships. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and are enthusiastic and motivated with a passion for design. You are also tech-savvy, extremely organized, and detail-oriented. You have a desire to contribute to our fast-paced team. You don't mind wearing a few different hats, as you are a gifted multi-tasker with an old-school work ethic and believe no job is too small.

In this role, you will be responsible for Project management of smaller projects and supporting the Associate/Lead Designer with larger-scale residential and commercial projects.

You will see projects through the creative, administrative, and installation processes within our active and growing boutique firm.

You should be comfortable with the following:

  • Project management of smaller projects and assisting designers / senior designers on larger scale projects

  • Working closely with designers and senior designers on space plans, schemes, and selections

  • Managing product selection and sourcing process of bespoke furniture design, fabrics, lighting, art, and finishes.

  • Generate, check, and send out proposals

  • Tracking, ordering, and processing purchase orders and maintaining budgets for multiple vendors and clients.

  • Drawing of custom furniture pieces.

  • Creating detailed FF&E Specifications.

  • Attend on-site meetings and work with contractors and clients to implement designs

  • Attend client meetings and present schemes, plans, and materials

  • Communicating with vendors & showrooms

  • Communicating with clients

  • Maintaining Client share folders.

  • Gathering samples as required per project

  • Assisting in the development of overall design intent for projects

  • Developing technical documents, including specification packages and finish, fixtures, equipment, hardware, and plumbing schedules.

  • Creating and managing design drawings promptly through the use of Chief Architect. (The studio uses Chief Architect but willing to work with someone with at least three years of experience in AutoCAD or Revit.

  • Preparing renderings and graphic layouts for client presentations.

  • Oversee the order expediting process to ensure timely orders and deliveries

  • Assisting with construction drawing sets, in coordination with the Associate/Lead Interior Designer and Contractor/Project Architect.

Additional Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Associates degree in Interior Design and/or Architecture.

  • Minimum of 1+ years experience in a residential or commercial design firm required.

  • Punctuality & discretion.

  • A great design sensibility and a strong portfolio.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Proficiency in 3D rendering platforms is a plus.

  • Car and a valid driver's license are required for sourcing and site visits.

  • Authorized to work in the United States.
