WASHINGTON, D.C.
Some projects are memorable because of their scale. Others are memorable because of the people behind them.
This Logan Circle living room project in Washington, D.C., falls firmly into the latter category.
As a luxury interior design firm based outside the D.C. market, we are selective about taking on projects beyond our primary service area, especially when the scope is limited to a single room. However, from the very beginning, this client understood the value of thoughtful design and was committed to executing the project with the same level of care, attention to detail, and service we bring to our larger full-home commissions.
The goal was to transform an architecturally beautiful living room into a space that felt collected, sophisticated, and deeply personal while honoring the historic character of the home. Rich original millwork, arched windows, and traditional detailing provided a remarkable foundation, but the room needed warmth, functionality, and a stronger sense of identity.
Our design approach focused on layering texture, pattern, and materiality to create visual depth without overwhelming the architecture. Deep charcoal wallcovering highlights the home's original woodwork, while warm caramel tones, tailored upholstery, curated artwork, and sculptural furnishings introduce a contemporary perspective. Every element was selected to create balance, respecting the home's history while making it feel relevant for modern living.
Though the project centered on a single room, it received the same comprehensive attention as our larger full-service interior design projects. From concept development and space planning to furnishings, finishes, styling, and implementation oversight, every detail was considered to ensure the finished space felt cohesive, elevated, and effortless.
The result is a living room that feels intimate yet dramatic, timeless yet current, a space designed for conversation, relaxation, and everyday luxury in the heart of Washington, D.C.'s iconic Logan Circle neighborhood.
